If recording will not start or Medical Scribe cannot hear you, check microphone permission and the selected input.
Name the visit, choose the microphone input, then select Start Visit.
If microphone access is blocked
Look for the Microphone access is blocked message.
In your browser's site settings, allow microphone access for Medical Scribe. The exact settings depend on your browser.
Return to Medical Scribe and select Enable mic to try again.
Open Microphone settings and choose the microphone you want to use.
Check the input before recording
Open the microphone menu beside the recording controls.
Select the microphone connected to the device you intend to use. If you choose System Default, check that your computer's default input is the microphone you want.
Make sure the microphone or headset is not muted. Speak and watch the level meter in the microphone menu.
Start the visit once the meter responds.
If you see No audio detected during a visit
Check that the microphone is unmuted and connected. Medical Scribe removes the warning when it detects audio again.
You cannot change the microphone during an active recording, including while it is paused. Stop the recording before selecting another input. Use Complete Visit to keep the current recording, or Cancel only if you want to discard it.
After changing inputs, check the microphone level before starting another recording. Review the resulting transcript and note; changing the microphone cannot recover speech that was not recorded.
If the problem continues
Open Help Desk and include your browser, operating system, microphone type, and the exact message you see. Describe whether the level meter moves. Avoid including patient information in the initial report.
