Linking a patient gives the visit patient context and lets you find related visits from the patient’s profile.
Open a patient to see their linked visits.
Add or select a patient
On a new or existing visit in the web app, select the large Patient name field at the top.
Type to find a patient, then select the correct person from the list.
To create a patient, choose Add new patient or Add “…” for the name you entered. Complete the patient details and select Save changes.
You can also create a patient from Patients → Add Patient. First Name is required; the form also offers Last Name, Gender, Pronouns, and Date of Birth.
Check the patient before changing the link on an existing visit. Attaching, changing, or detaching a patient triggers regeneration of existing notes when a transcript is available. Review the notes again afterward, including any edits you made earlier.
Detach a patient
Select the patient-name field and select the currently linked patient again in the list. The check mark identifies the selected patient. Editing the text of a linked patient’s name in this field also clears the patient link.
To correct the patient’s saved details, open their profile in Patients and choose Edit patient.
View patient visits
Open Patients, find the patient, and open their profile. Under Visit history, select a visit to open it. Use Load more if it is shown.
Include history in a template
Open the template you want to use.
Turn on Include patient history. On narrow screens, find it in Template options.
Save the template using Save changes, Save a copy, or Create.
With a patient linked, this setting allows note generation to use excerpts from up to five other visits linked to that patient in the same workspace. The available history depends on those visits having note content. Review any historical information for relevance to the current visit.
