View earlier versions of a note

Open available timestamped versions of a selected note in Version History.

When a note has saved revisions, you can open them in Version History.

View a version

  1. Open the visit in the web app and select the document tab you want to check.

  2. Open More actions (the three-dot button).

  3. Select Version history.

  4. Choose a date and time from the list to display that version’s content.

The history belongs to the selected note. Switch to another document first if you want to inspect its versions.

If Version history is missing

The menu item appears only when the selected note has saved revisions. It will not appear for a note with no revisions or while you have a non-note tab selected. Finish recording before using the visit actions.

Using an earlier version

The history viewer is read-only and has no restore control. For a recent change in the currently open note editor, desktop web users can use Undo when it is available.

Version History contains saved revisions; it does not provide a record of every keystroke. Review the current note before using it in your clinical record.
