Recover a failed recording upload

Retry a visit upload or recover recordings listed under Failed uploads without clearing the local recording data.

If a recording has not finished uploading, Medical Scribe may offer a retry using the recording data kept in your browser.

Use the same browser and device that recorded the visit. Do not clear site data or browser storage while trying to recover it. Recovery depends on the recording data still being available locally.

Retry from the visit

  1. Check that your internet connection is working.

  2. Open the affected visit.

  3. If you see Retry upload, select it.

  4. Wait for uploading and processing to finish. Then open the note and check that it contains the expected visit information.

Use the Failed uploads panel

If a recording did not finish creating or uploading its visit, it may appear in the visit sidebar instead.

  1. Select the button labeled Retry 1 failed upload, or the equivalent button showing the number of failed uploads.

  2. In Failed uploads, identify the recording by its date, time, and duration.

  3. Select Upload beside one recording, or Retry all to retry the listed recordings.

  4. If a row says Retry failed — check connection, check your connection and select Retry for that recording.

  5. After the upload succeeds, close the panel and find the visit in the visit list. A recovered recording that had no visit may be named Untitled (Recovered).

If a retry option is missing or still fails

Return to the browser and device used for the recording and check again. A missing retry option does not establish that the visit was deleted, and recovery is not guaranteed if the local recording is no longer available.

Use Help Desk to report the approximate recording time, device and browser, visible status, and any error. Do not delete the visit or clear browser storage as a troubleshooting step.
